What are you doing now? It’s a phrase well known to twitterers, twhirlers and tweeters (and in the Spectre office, a couple of tweakers for good measure) around the world, but for Paul Smith the answer is simple. He’s the man now known as the twitchiker, who’s gamely traveling across the globe, basing his ability to get anywhere at all on the goodwill and charity of fellow users of social network site Twitter (those little grey boxes in the corner of ES) . So far his chances look good, with Stephen Fry picking up on the idea and causing it to go viral in hours, Paul now has around 2000 people promising to help out, and giving us the chance to see if social networks are actually social, or just virtual. Remind me to tweet about wanting a new Porshe in the near future.
