Hardcore coder Shantanu Goel has managed to get the Xbox Kinect up and running on the PS3 – and most impressive of all is that the console is not running hacked firmware. The video below shows the technology working pretty well for controlling the XMB, but playing Killzone 3 looks a real challenge. Shantanu plans to keep refining the code and if you want to try if for yourself you can download the source code from his website.

Heavy Rain Deleted Scenes
0 CommentsWarning, there will be spoilers for Heavy Rain. If you haven’t played it yet, run!
Anyone that has played through Heavy Rain will have noticed that a pretty major plot point is never explained – Ethan’s blackouts. Sony recently posted a new video on the American PlayStation Store showing off some content that was cut from the game, and a very strange explanation for the blackouts. I feel that cutting this explanation was a good thing as it seems a bit silly in the context of the game – and it also shows that David Cage still seems obsessed with cramming in fantastical elements into his games. There is also a deleted scene featuring the Killer and some interesting gameplay mechanics that were removed from Madison’s playable sections. If you don’t have an American PSN account you can see the clip below, credit to SolidusDave for uploading it to YouTube. Video is after the jump as there is a major spoiler in the thumbnail!
WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2011
0 CommentsDmC Wtf
1 CommentsThe worst kept secret in gaming was finally confirmed today with Capcom announcing a reboot to the Devil May Cry series, and as you can see from the above Dante artwork it is a quite a departure for the much loved franchise. Development moves from Japan to Cambridge, England into the hands of Ninja Theory – developers of Heavenly Sword and the upcoming Enslaved. Many are already agahast at the character design and with the choice of developer. Heavenly Sword looked stunning but annoyed many with it’s lack of jump button and very frustrating boss battles that felt cheap when you failed a QTE sequence. Enslaved has been getting positive vibes from critics though there is concern that these two games both run at 30fps compared to the 60fps standard set in previous Devil May Cry titles. A demo is now available on PS3 for Enslaved so check it out for a flavour of Ninja Theory’s work. The studio has Andy Serkis on it’s books as a Dramatic Director and appears in Heavenly Sword and Enslaved we wonder who he’ll play in this game. Check out two screenshots below and we’ll have the trailer featured as part of our Trailer Thursday Tokyo Game Show special. Are you happy with the new Dante and choice of developer?
