New shiny piece of tech out – what is the first thing you do with it? Hack it to run on Linux of course. Some very brainy people are making some fantastic looking projects withe the Xbox 360 Kinect motion camera, and Google SEO God Matt Cutts has even put up a couple of thousand dollars to the team who makes the best hack. Check out a couple of videos below to see the work done so far.

Trailer Thursday: Scary Edition
0 CommentsThis week I dedicate Trailer Thursday to one game – Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a first person horror game made by an independent development team from Norway. I love horror games, though I don’t know why. I hate being scared and I despise jump frights. One of the scariest experiences of my life was being home alone one Christmas Eve playing Silent Hill 3, entering the infamous mirror room, shutting off the console then realising the house was in darkness. Amnesia: TDD is available on Windows PC, Mac and Linux with demos available on all formats so that you can get a good dose of scariness before paying just £13 for the full game. I had a very enjoyable afternoon with the game, though at times the display kept flipping upside down. At first I thought that was one of the insanity effects but it ended up being a bug so look out for that! Enjoy the trailers and then head here to find a demo for your chosen format.

To get registration codes get yourself set up at http://entry.ffxiv.com. Would love to see you there but my laptop would probably have steam bellowing out trying to run it!
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Review
0 CommentsKane & Lynch are not your typical lead game characters and Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is not your typical game sequel. All too often the begging bowl is brought out and we cry ‘More of the same but shinier’ and go on our way, but this was not going to be the case for the dastardly duo as while the first game sold well it was panned by critics and public alike. An overhaul was needed and the trailers have shown a dramatically different game, but is this sequel more poodle than rottweiller? Read on to find out….
Who Are Kane & Lynch?
0 CommentsKane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is out in the very near future and while the game is a sequel you may have missed out on the original title as it came out rather early in the lifespans of the Xbox 360 and PS3. You can catch up on the lives of these crazed criminals thanks to these character vignettes, which are also useful as a refresher if you have played the first game seeing as it is coming up to it’s third birthday.
