So, as it looks increasingly likely that North Korea will soon be raining hot hail on Japan, and we all know the US can’t resist the prospect of an extended conflict in Asia, it can’t be long before the mushroom clouds start to blossom, and the mutants start to emerge. Now, after riding the tube to work, I’m the first to realise that public transport just isn’t equipped to deal with EMPs, Radioactive fallout and Humungulous attacks. So, in event of nuclear war-how will we at Electric Spectre get to work and become the world’s sole remaining news agency?

Continuing our tradition of reporting on google map addons, here’s a nicely complimentary feature for the Disaster Mapper- Ground Zero. Basically pick your weapon- I am going with ‘Planet Cracker’, because screw you planet Earth- and GZ will generate you a nice little iconised map showing the effects of destruction and radiation poisoning. This obviously won’t work after an EMP hits you, but it is perfect for planning that tactical strike on Milton Keynes, or just knowing which way to run when the oil starts running out next year.
