Truly bizarre news from Japan today (And I mean BIZARRE-Even for Japan!). According to several Nippon based news agencies, Matoba Electric is in a whole heap of cheesy-smelling trouble due to it’s high power foot massager, the”Shape-Up Roller II” apparently killing several customers who “Mis-Used” the product. Now while I can see the dangers of mis-using a 2 foot long industrial massage unit, in this case the clearest details are of one young lady who was strangled while removing the cover. According to Matoba:
“(Matoba) have issued an apology and clear instructions to all users, in an attempt to prevent further fatalities, but as yet see no reason to recall the product.”
So. A foot massager that kills people with it’s bloody wrapper doesn’t need to be recalled. Great, now you can’t even relax without worrying about it.
