Fans queued up outside the Prince Charles Cinema in London lat night to be the have first pick od the seats for the Lost Marathon – all six seasons of the show shown back to back all week long – thats 80 hours of twists, turns and polar bears! Many turned up in costume dressed as their favourite characters and were clutching their homemade survival packs with sleeping bags, pillows and packed lunches.
Executive Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse said: “For those of you watching all six seasons of the show in one long marathon, we applaud you, we admire you and we thank you for your fandom. But we take no legal responsibility for you!” There will be regulated breaks throughout the marathon and paramedics on standby. Check back with us later in the week to see who survived the marathon. If you have never seen an episode of Lost, but quite fancy watching it now it has finally finished you should scoot along to the Prince Charles Cinema in London on Monday 12th Spetember for a special screening of every episode. Fancy spending 80 hours in the cinema? I went to a Bourne film marathon one night and after three films in quick succession I was ready to go mad so I can’t wait to see the faces of people after this one. The screening starts on the same day that the complete collections of Lost are released on Blu-Ray and DVD – so if you want to watch at more sane pace you can. The Lost Marathon will commence at 10am on Monday 13th September 2010 and will continue constantly over 24-hour periods. If successfully completed, the final episode will air on the afternoon of Thursday 16th September 2010. There will be regulated breaks and helpfully paramedics on the scene incase it all goes a bit wrong.
To pre-register for the event, scoot an email over to lostmarathon@taylorherring.com. Pre-registration does not guarantee admittance, the first 280 to turn up on the day will get in and will also get a goody bag. You can also leave at any time!
