Final Fantasy fans were left hanging over the Bank Holiday with the announcement that the Final Fantasy XIV PC Beta was postponed, with no new date announced. The good news is that the launch niggles have been sorted and the Beta will begin tomorrow, Thursday the 2nd of September, at 2am. NO SLEEPS FOR YOU TONIGHT. To get registration codes get yourself set up at http://entry.ffxiv.com. Would love to see you there but my laptop would probably have steam bellowing out trying to run it!
You wait ages for a new Final Fantasy game and then two come along in the same year. MMO Final Fantasy XIV will be available to buy this year – if you are a PC owner. The game hits the PC in September, with the PS3 version arriving much later in March 2011, which is a bit of a shame for the fans who eagerly entered their registration codes packed in with Final Fantasy XIII to get into the BETA. Now while the game is officially out on September 30th, you can get in a week earlier if you stump up the cash for the Special Edition – very clever Square-Enix. Read on to find out what is in the special edition, and how you can get involved in the July PC BETA.
eBay game sellers will be taking another hit with the release of Final Fantasy IX on the PlayStation Network. The PSone Final Fantasy games attracted high prices on the second hand market, but now VII,VIII & IX can be picked up through download to play on PS3 and PSP for £7.99 a piece.
I find it quite scary that PSone games are playable on a handheld and will probably hide under a table when a PSP comes out that can play Final Fantasy XIII. That would need some size of memory stick.
