Oh dear. Google are up to something.

It’s probably some amazing new app or service that will make us all much happier and provide us with spiritual enrichment, but there’s always the chance that this is it: they’re finally going evil as we always suspected they would.

The buzz is all about this mysterious Easter Egg. Go to Google.com and hit ‘I’m feeling lucky’ with no search terms entered. Cue a mysterious countdown, that seems to be aimed at the new year…

But why?

Suggestions please.

EDIT: Apparently, if you change the clock on your computer you’ll change the countdown timer. Any brave readers with a few spare minutes fancy setting their clock to 2 minutes to New Years and seeing what happens when it ticks down to zero?

This completely unsettling video was recorded 7828ft down by a worker on an oil rig. And scared the crap out of me. It looks like anorexic Cthulhu! Apparently its a Long Arm Squid or Magnapinna. I call it ‘Evil.’

Next time you’re deep sea diving, keep your eyes peeled for this horror.
