Ever wanted to show other people the world from your perspective? Then you need the Action Cam from Chilli Technology that enables you to attach a video camera to your head, which will do till we can have a flash drive embedded into the back of our eyes and a flash above the eyebrows. With this nifty gadget you can record your own version of Peep Show, catch dog owners who don’t pick up mess and also record important conversations that you can analyse later for lies whilst keeping your hands free. The camera comes with a head strap and then you just press one button to start recording. 2xAA batteries power it up for around 3 hours and the movies are stored onto SD card, at a rate of 1gb per hour. The camera retails for £24.99 and looks a nice gift for those who enjoy mountain biking or skiing or spying on neighbours.

Camera Phone Takes Good Photo Shocker
0 CommentsHow many times have you went out and took a bunch of photos of your phone only to get home and see a blurry mess on your computer screen. Camera phones are rather disappointing, but it seems the secret to taking a good photo with them is to keep them very still and spend a whole wad of cash on lights – lots of lights. Check out this video of a photo shoot featuring a professional photographer, model and an iPhone 3GS.
He Got A TV Eye
0 CommentsFirst of all, the word “Eyeborg” is a little too close to “Lobot” for my liking, and secondly, this probably sets a pretty freaky precedent, but that hasn’t stopped Toronto resident Rob Spence, who lost an eye three years ago, from pimping his socket out with a hidden camera. Seems filmmaker Spence, 36, thinks we might like to know what life is like through his eyes, although he has promised to seek the permission of anyone filmed before broadcast, so it’s not true lifecasting, but it’s very, very close.
“It is very interesting that my plan has been met with fear and fascination. People find the idea that any part of the body being replaced by a machine is difficult. But when it is the eye, the personal window to the soul, then that is even more difficult.”
Personally I’m waiting to see how long before someone stuffs these things in a celebrity so that warped reality TV fans can literally spend time in someone else’s head.

A Poke In The Eye For Blindness
0 CommentsWe’ve often reported on attempts to make the blind (or partially sighted but attention starved artists) see, but now science is hell-bent on allowing them to point out items of interest too. It seems that George Stetten, of Pittsburgh University, has decided that cameras mounted on your fingertips would be a good idea…probably…for some reason…Anyway, the cams are set to have incredibly advanced motion recognition software included, so they can pick up particularly specific items (For example, that yellow mumu you got for your blind cousin as an ill-concieved prank) like light switches or complex controls, giving the blind or partially sighted much greater freedom and ability in the workplace. So, blind people running heavy construction equiptment. Marvelous.

Bionic Eye Wanted
0 CommentsCybernetics gets closer to everyday life today as Tanya Vlach posted a ‘cybernetic eye wanted‘ ad on her blog.
I am attempting to recreate my eye with the help of a miniature camera implant in my prosthetic / artificial eye. The intraocular installation of an eye-cam will substitute for the field of vision of my left eye that I lost in 2005 from a car accident. While my prosthetic is an excellent aesthetic replacement, I am interested in capitalizing on the current advancement of technology to enhance the abilities of my prosthesis for an augmented reality.
I would like to take this oppotunity to ask any engineers out there for a shoulder mounted laser cannon. Worth a try?
