Deadly Premonition Europe Bound

DeadlyPremonitionEurope

Deadly Premonition is coming to Europe! The game is the marmite of the survival horror world with lovers and haters attacking each other with venom across internet messages. You play as Special Agent Francis York Morgan as he investigates the brutal murder of a young woman in a small sleepy town where nobody goes outside when it rains. The game attracted a cult following in the USA thanks to its inappropriate soundtrack, barmy characters and hilarious cutscenes. Playing the game seems to be a bit of a chore though with poor combat and baffling design choices. The game was region locked putting a stop on imports to Europe but Rising Star Games have stepped in to bring the title to these fair shores this Autumn on Xbox 360 for a RRP of £24.99, so not too much money to take a risk on.

“Having seen how Deadly Premonition split reviewers’ opinions in America, gamers are itching to get their hands on it to judge it for themselves,” says Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games. “We have high hopes for what can only be described as the most distinctive survival horror game that has ever been released – it’s going to be interesting to see how the game is received over here. It’s a cult classic in the making.”

He is right about reviewers having split opinions, with Destructoid giving the game a perfect 10 and IGN giving a 2.0. See what the fuss is about this Autumn and join in the fun of FK in my coffee, delicious turkey sandwiches and the fantastic instrumental track ‘Life Is Beautiful‘.

Going Postal Coming To DVD

Who would have thought that the home of brilliant Terry Pratchett adaptations would be Sky One? The satellite giants have provided lots of cash and talent for their versions of Hogfather, The Colour of Magic and Going Postal, the latter coming to DVD and Blu-Ray on August 23rd. Perfect for those without subscription tv or who utterly despise adverts.

The plot sees con-artist Moist von Lipwig (Richard Coyle: Coupling, Prince of Persia) being sent to the hangman’s noose, but he doesn’t expect to get beaten at his own game and fall through the trapdoor into a Government job. Given the position of Postmaster, a role that hasn’t been occupied in years, by ruler of Ankh-Morpork Lord Vetinari (Charles Dance: Gosford Park, Bleak House), it’s his daunting task to get the dilapidated Postal Service up and running again.

All star cast, great special effects and a clever story set in the fantastical world of Discworld, all under the blessing of Pratchett. What more could you want? Pre-order now  to get your copy in the post for release day!

Prince Of Persia on Blu-Ray & DVD

PrinceOfPersiaDVDBluRayPrince Of Persia: The Sands of Time was a rare film, a videogame movie that was actually rather decent, and one that the whole family could enjoy. There was something for everyone – beautiful locations, giant setpieces, a snarling Ben Kinglsey, beautiful Gemma Arterton,a buff Jake Gyllenhaal and a magical, mystical dagger.

After a healthy run at the cinema, the film is available for home release on September 13th on a variety of formats.
