Panasonic seem to be gluttons for punishment. Not content with the 3DO disaster, the company has decided there is not enough competition in the handheld space and have revelealed the Panasonic Jungle – a portable console dedicated to online gaming. The machine is meant to have a very tasty screen and will be launching with a BattleStar Galatica MMORPG to show that they mean business, but I feel that the machine will struggle to find an audience in a world full of iPhones, DS’s and PSP’s. If they can convince Blizzard to port World of Warcraft to the console it could well be a market leader, but that would also lead to zero productivity in workplaces across Britain. Still, it has a custom version of Linux as the operating system so it might be a nifty device to play SNES and Mega Drive emulators.

3DS in March
0 CommentsNintendo have announced that the 3DS will be released in the UK this March. The highly anticipated handheld will hit Japan first on February 26th, much later than expected, at around 25000 yen – so hopefully the machine will be under £200 once it hits Britain and many Americans are aghast as they may be paying over $300. Quite expensive for a handheld, but the games look amazing – check out the video above for a look at the brilliant software line-up including two Resident Evil games, Metal Gear Solid 3 and a bunch of Nintendo classics. The dinky machine plays games and films without the need for 3D glasses and you can even take 3D photos thanks to two camera on the outer casing. More news as we get it.
