When I was a young child I was told that the day would come that a game called ‘Gran Turismo 5′ would come out and be enjoyed by driving simulator fanatics across the world. Many years latter the masses had given up hope of the game ever making appearance, especially after the last prophecy, Duke Nukem Forever, failed to be released. Alas the patient have been rewarded and Gran Turismo 5 is set to hit the PS3 in November and as a reward Sony are letting people with lots of money treat themselves to some quite splendid special editions.
The ‘Premier Edition’ is priced at a whopping £150 and comes with a metal sculpted box finished in SLS AMG Obsidian Black,a GT branded SLS AMG 1:43 model car a GT leather wallet ,a branded USB key with some trailers, a branded metal key fob, Signature Edition coffee table book featuring lots of photos, a 200 page Apex drivers magazine with lots of features on driving and cars and a whole bunch of exclusive downloadable race cars. Phew. Buying the set also enters you into a competition to win a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar. Not a downloadable car for the game, a real very expensive car! There is also a cheaper special edition that comes with a cardboard case and the Apex magazine but no car competition.
