Sony have finally announced the name of their motion controller for PS3 – PlayStation Move and debuted a bunch of titles for the device at GDC last night. Last year, the company were hyping us on how the controller would be great for ‘core’ games – though last night seemed to be a shift in a focus with a load of ‘casual’ titles. Here are some videos from ‘Attack Of The Show’ demoing the device.
The general feeling seems to be one of being underwhelmed. The technology behind the device seems to be great – though the games are not really awe inspiring stuff, which is disappointing seeing how great Sony’s games studios have been in the last couple of years. As platform owner, they should be leading by example – and this doesn’t look like a great start.
Nintendo fans will have a field day when they see the ‘Sub Controller’ ie Nunchuck. It’s hard to believe how much the setup looks like the Wii!

Hopefully we will see some better demos at E3. The device hits in the Autumn, and will be available on it’s own, or bundled with a camera, or with a sub-controller or even with a PS3 and Camera. Price is under $100 – so maybe around £60 here bundled with camera. Will you be Moving from Wii to PS3?
