UFC Undisputed 2009 took a lot of fight fans by surprise last year by being a very enjoyable and accessible game. Can this year’s effort refine the winning formula for a truly knockout title and stave off opposition from EA MMA?
The core fighting engine sees two new systems being added which should add major new dimensions to a battle,. The Sway System allows movement of the head and upper body, enabling players to dodge attacks while the Posture System enables fight ending strikes from any position while grappling on the ground. Lefties are also represented with the introduction of a Southpaw stance – perfect for your recreation of Ned Flanders who can add Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling to his list of combat styles available in Create A Fighter.
The online mode has an element of co-op play added, with fighters able to form teams and compete in leagues – think Ten Pin Bowling Leagues but with added punching. Looking forward from teams representing the home nations taking each other on to be the Kings Of The UK.
