Newsgush: The Traditional English Pub comes to Playstation Home

That’s right, PS3 owners can now enjoy a relaxing pint without the agony of actually going outside. Of course, the downside is you don’t get any actual booze – it’s all virtual. But there are other ways to enjoy yourself. To quote the PR:

Based on your favourite London watering hole, situated on the banks of the river Thames overlooking The Houses of Parliament, The London Pub personal space comes complete with a multi-player darts game, a roaring open fire, comedy beer pumps, crank phone calls and hand dryers that don’t dry your hands (they’re only virtual you know).

Our initial concern is that, looking at the screenshots this might not exactly be a realistic English Pub setting. Everyone is happy, beautiful and dancing, when really they should be huddled round their drinks, trying not to make eye contact with the weird guy sat in the corner by himself. The decor on the walls is also slightly suspect – this might be more the kind of pub you’d find in an English-themed novelty bar in California than the pokey, isometric drink-holes of Soho.

But that said, this is the only pub you can buy for €4.99.

The London Pub from VEEMEE is released January 7th, 2010.
