More awesome craziness from the US military, who seem driven to take warfare kicking and screaming into the doomed future. Self propelled bunker busting rocket fireballs.
The Pentagon has a new secret weapon to neutralize sites containing chemical or biological weapons: rocket balls. These are hollow spheres, made of rubberized rocket fuel; when ignited, they propel themselves around at random at high speed, bouncing off the walls and breaking through doors, turning the entire building into an inferno. The makers call them “kinetic fireball incendiaries.” The Pentagon doesn’t want to talk about them, but published documents show that the fireballs have undergone tests on underground bunkers.
I often wonder how they come up with these ideas. Is there a secret think tank that just sits around drinking high quality bourbon, smoking cigars and dreaming up new ways to kill people? Because, if there is, I have some ideas for them…(Monkey Shoulder and a havana please!)

Cybernetics gets closer to everyday life today as Tanya Vlach posted a ‘cybernetic eye wanted‘ ad on her blog.
I am attempting to recreate my eye with the help of a miniature camera implant in my prosthetic / artificial eye. The intraocular installation of an eye-cam will substitute for the field of vision of my left eye that I lost in 2005 from a car accident. While my prosthetic is an excellent aesthetic replacement, I am interested in capitalizing on the current advancement of technology to enhance the abilities of my prosthesis for an augmented reality.
I would like to take this oppotunity to ask any engineers out there for a shoulder mounted laser cannon. Worth a try?

Cutting edge fashion designers often go for unusual materials, and the Wonder Woman costume above is no exception-according to designer Dina Sadik:
“It’s a merciless element. It shows no mercy, it has no mercy. You have to have your timing, you have to have the temperature, you have to have the humidity right. Everything has to be right. You have one shot at it, one shot.”
So, what is this deadly new material? Steel? Barbed Wire? Kryptonite? Nope. The Wonder Woman suit above is crafted from pure…chocolate. Never heard chocs described as ‘mercyless’ before, but as pics from the 11th annual New York chocalate fashion awards show (Think about that for a bit..someone has made a living for 11 years from covering covergirls in chocolate…), it can be effective body armor as well as a tasty treat. Looking forward to this hitting the high street next season.

I don’t often get the chance to yell ‘LEEKSPIN!’ at a Ready Brek commercial, but today I did. And not just because I enjoy shouting random words at electrical appliances. In an odd move, the soundtrack to the latest Ready Brek advert is Loituma’s Leva’s Polka – best know as the soundtrack to incomprehensible meme leekspin.
With that and Rick Astley winning Best Act Ever at the MTV EMAs, internet phenomenon are making the leap towards mainstream culture. Well, I say fuck mainstream culture. It’s much more fun when the internet stuff is a private joke between us dorks. Let’s hope the next memes to appear are so weird the mainstream leave well alone…

Lately, I feel we may have been ignoring the pervert section of our readership, so time for some porn. Actually, time for four times as much porn. To be honest I have no idea what sexgrid is for exactly, but it did remind me a bit of the multi-channel TV from Back to the future part II (Which put that terrible image of Michael J.Fox in a dress in mind- no sleep for me tonight), and it’s nice to see breakthroughs in..uhh…wanking technology I guess.
Anyway, If you find that Redtube isn’t enough, enjoy. Alternatively- maybe try getting out more?
